Categories of Operating Licence
Operating Licence is an authorization granted by the competent licensing authority for an EU air carrier to an undertaking, permitting it to provide air services.
There are two categories of Operating Licences:
- Category A: permits licence holder to carry by air passengers, mail and/or cargo for remuneration and/or hire
- Category B: permits licence holder to carry by air passengers, mail and/or cargo for remuneration and/or hire on aircrafts of less than 10 tonnes maximum take-off mass (MTOM) and / or less than 20 seats.
